Local Libraries (or) Where To Find Hard Copy Books

WorldCat is an on-line “card” catalog that will locate the closest libraries to your location that carry the book(s) you seek.

Whichbook – this website is a terrific book recommender.

The Enoch Pratt Free Library system in Baltimore City has a library with a vast array of resources. There are several locations and you can search their on-line catalog or go in and ask for help at the reference desk. The books mentioned on our library website are available at the Pratt.

The Pratt offers accessibility services to persons with hearing or visual challenges. To learn more, click here. Computers are also easily accessible at Pratt locations. Technological training including typing,  writing resumes and cover letters, learning to use computers and how to access the internet are all offered. To see the schedule of courses click here.

Baltimore County Public Library also has many of the books we mention. Their collection is not quite as large or diverse as Pratt’s but is certainly a good resources.

In Baltimore we also have a free book store (hard to believe but true!) The Book Thing is open on the weekends only from 9am to 6pm. They have a “take all the books you can” policy and it is a real treasure trove.
